CTV is reporting that the Canadian government has added the United States to the list of countries that use torture as an interrogation technique. Canada added the US to the list, which also includes Iran and Syria, after the whole debacle with the extraordinary rendition of Maher Arar by the US to Syria, where he was held and tortured for over a year.

However, the article also states that Canada has been attempting to stop the distribution of this information, so we’ll see where things go from here. Yesterday, there was a clip on NBC about this issue:
